Encyclopedia > Warcraft Adventures: Lord of the Clans

Warcraft Adventures: Lord of the Clans was an adventure computer game under development by Blizzard Entertainment that was to be set in the Warcraft Universe. The game was to use cel animation, rather than sprite animation as was common at the time or 3D animation as is common today. The player's role was that of an orc named Thrall who was raised by humans. The player then guides Thrall on an adventure through Azeroth and on his way to becoming the chieftain of the orcish clans. The game was cancelled in mid-development due to projected low sales. The storyline was eventually released as a novel written by Christie Golden entitled Warcraft: Lord of the Clans.
