Woods Hole is a census-designated place and village within the town of Falmouth in Barnstable County, Massachusetts, at the extreme southwest corner of Cape Cod, near the island of Martha's Vineyard, and is the site of three famous scientific institutions: Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, the Marine Biological Laboratory, and the Woods Hole Research Center. It is also the site of a United States Coast Guard station (The USCG Group Woods Hole (http://www.uscg.mil/d1/units/gruwh/)), the home campus of the Sea Education Association, and the terminus of a ferry route between the cape and Martha's Vineyard.
