True data should be per marriage, per time lasted. Ie, the link from alex is meaningless as it refers to the whole population. It should be measured from those married, & also, number of months lasted. Divorce after 25 yrs is not as awful as divorce after 1 year, signifying a breakdown of a national institution.

I totally believe that the God that instituted marriage is the One with solution to modern day marriages. So let of go back to Genesis and fix our marriages not the courts

The true reliable data in divorce is divorce per marriage. It does answer the question; how many marriages will end in divorce? This data will help to make counselors very wealthy with this watch ' Jamie & Paul, mad about you'.

Where's the USA? It is #1 in divorce per capita I'm thinking, with 4.95 per 1,000 people (http://www.nationmaster.com/graph/peo_div_rat-people-divorce-rate), but I don't see it on this list. I'd think it'd be at least #5.
