What's the point of listing "total crimes" without comparing total population... that is meaningless... then claiming that one total is "x times more than" some place else having 10% of the total population/cars/etc?

  • Hi George we have per capita stat for that too: http://www.nationmaster.com/country-info/stats/Crime/Total-crimes-per-1000 . Total crimes is for some reason the more popular stat though. It depends on whether you're interested in a person's likelihood of being a victim of crime, or how crime is distributed around the globe.
