Data refer to people victimized by one or more of 11 crimes recorded in the survey: robbery, burglary, attempted burglary, car theft, car vandalism, bicycle theft, sexual assault, theft from car, theft of personal property, assault and threats. Crime statistics are often better indicators of prevalence of law enforcement and willingness to report crime, than actual prevalence.

3rd November 2009 		Somethings is wrong here South Africa not on this list? All i have ever heard is that SA has the highest crime rate in the world. I dont think this list is correct! When was the last time it was updated???

3rd September 2009 		Oy - surely South Africa should be on this list? We do crime as well as we do rugby... these stats look really dodgy to me as Oz is winning and New Zealand, Sweden and Denmark feature and we don't!

10th June 2009 		One must drop there preconceptions when dealing with Facts. Beginning with the Myth that America has the most crime in the world. France does have a higher crime rate than post people think. Due to slew of immigration from 3rd world countries and an unarmed population. Facts are facts. There are slums and ghettoes in France and areas that law-enforcement have deemed no-go-zones. This is reality live with it.
