I think more needs to be added to the info on Moldova. In 1992, Moldova was involved in a short-term war with Russia. But, in fact, the local population from the east region of Moldova was not involved in the war. People called kozaks from Russia (in fact, mercenaries) were involved actively in the war, and supported by the Russian armed power. The war started with the attack by Russian mercenaries on the Moldavian town Dubosari, situated on the eastern bank of Dniestr, which was not loyal to the separatist regime. Since 1992, Russia keeps under military occupation the eastern regions of the neutral state Republic of Moldova. The pro-Russian separatist regime established on the occupied territory is non-democratic (the so-called Transnistrian Moldavian Republic)and since 1992 no rotations in the political power took place in this area. The Transnistrian regime imposed forced Russification, the denationalization of Ucraineans and discriminates against Moldavians (e.g., the attacks of the Transdnestrian polis against the Moldavian schools from Tiraspol, Bender and Ribnita in 2004).
