20th September 2011 		This date set refers to KG per hectare, which is measuring the intensity of pesticide use per every hectare. While in bigger countries massive use of pesticide can be higher than Costa Rica which is here in first place, when you use the indicator that WRI is using, then you can have a better idea on which countries use pesticides more intensively (see the note on how is this indicator measured).

kilograms per hectare, is calculated by WRI by dividing the total pesticide consumption, measured in kilograms of active ingredients, by the total hectares of arable and permanent cropland.

We did not get any pesticide consumption data regarding India. I think your classification based on different continets will be more useful than these arrangements.
