Italy's projected population growth has been calculated to be -20.39% by the year 2050. The drop has mainly be blamed on the declining number of births in the country. Between 2003 and 2008, the number of females aged 0-14 years fell from 3.95 million to 3.84 million, while males of 0-14 years fell from 4.19 million to 4.09 million. By 2020, these figures are expected to fall to 3.35 million and 3.5 million respective, while population pyramids suggest 2050 will see 3 million and 3.1 million respective.Italy Population Pyramid for 1995
