Hi Nick, the office of US Citizenship and Immigration Services has data from 1820 onwards, but for the years after 1870, it's presented in blocks of 10 years, except for the years after 2000. Between 1961 and 1970 there were 453,937 registered immigrants from Mexico entering the USA, between 1971 and 1980 there were 640,294, between 1981 and 1990 there were 1,655,843, and between 1991 and 2000 2,249,421. In the years 2000, 2001, 2002 and 2003, the numbers were 171,748, 204,844, 217,318 and 114,984, respectively. However, illegal immigration from Mexico into the USA continues; it was estimated that in 2001 about 4.5 million Mexicans were residing illegally in the USA. There are about 14 million Mexican-Americans in the USA. |
