It is a measure of the change in food production since the base year (2001=100 I believe).

I am the 4th person to be interested in meaning of this figures. Please :)

it is an index measure i.e. shows growth indexed to base 94-01.
e.g. you produced on average 10 carrots per year over the period (94-01). You now produce 15 carrots per year. Your FPI is 150%.
It's not a terribly insightful measure.

I don't understand...what does it mean to have 100% production? Does it mean that all the land is being used, that the production possibilities are all being used at the max levels, that they produce enough for the entire population...? Can anyone explain this please? Thanks.
