28th January 2005 		Most countries with high growth rates in agriculture production have had small cultivated areas and are rapidly adding to this acreage through deforestation, overgrazing or bringing marginal lands under cultivation . China is the only notable exception among these. Third among nations with the largest cultivated and arable acreage , its use of technology in agriculture has been improving rapidly ¾ in terms of mechanization, such as use of tractors , and fertilizers .
