- Females living in cities proper: Total number of females living in cities proper. The UN definition for city proper varies for each country but usually refers to a locality with legal boundaries, some form of local government and does not include its outlying suburbs and districts. Numbers only include cities proper with a population over 100,000.
- Females living in urban agglomerations: Total number of females living in urban agglomerations. An urban agglomeration should not be confused with a metropolitan area, whereas an agglomeration refers to multiple connected urban cities, while a metropolitan area refers to a central urban area with outlying suburban cities and districts.
