Definitions
- Poorest 20%'s share in national income or consumption: Percentage of country's total income or consumption that belongs to the poorest 20% of its citizens.
- Poorest's share in national income or consumption: Percentage of country's total income or consumption that belongs to the poorest 5% of its citizens.
- Population below $1 (PPP) per day: Percentage of population that lives on less than the equivalent of 1 USD per day.
- Population below national poverty line > Rural: Percentage of country's population that lives in rural poverty. The poverty line is determined by each country separately.
- Population below national poverty line > Total: Percentage of country's population that falls below its poverty line.
- Population below national poverty line > Urban: Percentage of country's population that lives in urban poverty. The poverty line is determined by each country separately.
- Richest 10% to poorest 10% ratio: The ratio of average income of the richest 10% of the population to the average income of the poorest 10% of the population.
- Richest quintile to poorest quintile ratio: The ratio of average income of the richest 20% of the population to the average income of the poorest 20% of the population.
