  • Gender parity index: Country's gender parity index in primary, or elementary, school. For countries with a rating of over 1, more females are enrolled while countries with a rating under 1 have more males enrolled. 
  • Proportion of education spending on teachers' salaries: Percentage of public funding for primary education that goes to teachers' salaries.
  • Spending on teaching materials: Percentage of public funding for primary education that is allocated for teaching materials.
  • Students per teacher: Number of students per teacher for primary education.
  • Trained teachers > Both sexes: Percentage of all primary teachers with at least the minimum level of traning required to teach at the primary level.
  • Trained teachers > Men: Percentage of male primary teachers with at least the minimum level of traning required to teach at the primary level.
  • Trained teachers > Women: Percentage of female primary teachers with at least the minimum level of traning required to teach at the primary level.
