- Gender parity index: Country's gender parity index in primary, or elementary, school. For countries with a rating of over 1, more females are enrolled while countries with a rating under 1 have more males enrolled.
- Proportion of education spending on teachers' salaries: Percentage of public funding for primary education that goes to teachers' salaries.
- Spending on teaching materials: Percentage of public funding for primary education that is allocated for teaching materials.
