- Alcohol > Alcohol consumed from > All drinks: Average liters of pure alcohol consumed annually from legally and illegally produced alcohol, by the population above 14 years of age. The consumption of tourists is excluded for countries with more tourists per year than resident population.

Alcohol > Alcohol consumed from > Homemade and illegal drinks:
Average liters of pure alcohol consumed annually in the form of “unrecorded alcohol” by the population above 14 years of age. The consumption of tourists is excluded for countries with more tourists per year than resident population.
“Unrecorded alcohol” is not taxed and is outside of governmental control. It includes alcohol that is homemade (legally or illegally), smuggled or obtained through cross-border shopping. Data is collected through investigations and expert judgment. - Alcohol > Alcohol consumed from > Legal sources: Average liters of pure alcohol consumed annually in the form of “recorded alcohol” by the population above 14 years of age. The consumption of tourists is excluded for countries with more tourists per year than resident population. “Recorded alcohol” is taxed and within governmental control. It excludes alcohol that is homemade (legally or illegally), smuggled or obtained through cross-border shopping.

It should be noted that some countries, such as France, Great Britain, and Germany are operated by Yum! International, an offshoot of the Yum! Corporation, which owns KFC. Other countries are operated by separate corporations such as the Americana Group, which controls KFC franchises in nearly all Middle Eastern countries.
