I agree with Jeff. I have been living here all my life, I am 50 y-0 . The statistics are not accurate even if you can find them. I franky doubt there is a responsible entity in this country for these data. Eventhough you can find very beautiful and very warm and loving people here, the lack of a strong system and effective controls makes the country a paradise for robbers rapers and kidnappers. International loans and other humanitarian help from organizations MUST require that goverment control crime and not poverty. Poverty reduction is USED by politician to become rich. You industrialized nations should require crime control first before lending. Ask Rudolph Giulianni, he knows about this better.
