Definitions

  • Business extent of disclosure index > 0=less disclosure to 10=more disclosure: Business extent of disclosure index (0=less disclosure to 10=more disclosure). Disclosure index measures the extent to which investors are protected through disclosure of ownership and financial information. The index ranges from 0 to 10, with higher values indicating more disclosure.

  • Stocks traded, total value > Current US$, % of GDP: Stocks traded, total value (current US$). Stocks traded refers to the total value of shares traded during the period. Figures expressed as a proportion of GDP for the same year
  • Stocks traded, turnover ratio > %: Stocks traded, turnover ratio (%). Turnover ratio is the total value of shares traded during the period divided by the average market capitalization for the period. Average market capitalization is calculated as the average of the end-of-period values for the current period and the previous period.
