DEFINITION: This is a sub-index of the Commitment to Development Index (CDI), which ranks rich countries’ policies is terms of how beneficial they are to the world’s five billion poorest people. The investment sub-index ranks the support each country provides for foreign direct investment (FDI) in developing countries, such as insurance schemes, guarantees and tax treaties.
