- Food and drink > Alcohol > Alcohol consumed from > All drinks: Average liters of pure alcohol consumed annually from legally and illegally produced alcohol, by the population above 14 years of age. The consumption of tourists is excluded for countries with more tourists per year than resident population.

“Unrecorded alcohol” is not taxed and is outside of governmental control. It includes alcohol that is homemade (legally or illegally), smuggled or obtained through cross-border shopping. The data was compiled in 2013 by the Yuri Levada Analytical Center (Levada Center, for short), a Russian non-governmental research organization, that counts with experts in sociology, political science, economics, psychology and other fields. The center's senior staff has been trained in western countries, and it counts with a network of 67 regional offices. Its researchs are regularly covered by important national and international media.
