The highest mountains of the seven continents are Everest (Asia, 8850 meters), Acongua (South America, 6962 meters), Denali (North America, 6,194 meters), Kilimanjaro (Africa, 5895 meters), Elbrus (Europe, 5642 meters), Vinson (Antarctica, 4897 meters) and Carstenz Pyramid (Oceania, 4884 meters).

According to 7Summits.com, 82 people from 28 countries – nine women and 73 men – have climbed all seven. Patrick Morrow of Canada was first, completing his last summit on August 5, 1986. Scott Woolums of the U.S.A., who climbed his seventh on January 10, 2005, is the most recent.

Atsushi Yamada of Japan was the youngest man to finish, at 23 years and nine days old. The U.K.’s Rebecca Stephens (33 years and 50 days) was the youngest woman.

The oldest seven summiteers are Gerhard Schmatz (male, Germany, 62 years and 263 days) and Junko Tabei (female, Japan, 52 years and 310 days).

American Andrew Salter climbed the fastest (297 days), while his countryman Gerry Roach took his time, completing them over a span of 30 years and 304 days.
